The purpose of this post is to highlight the features and benefits of wooden toys for babies and children, focusing on the several reasons why you should use them for your little ones.
SENSORY EXPERIENCE
In addition to being soothing, wooden toys appeal to a baby's sense of touch since they are smooth, warm, and tactile. Toys made of plastic are usually cool and hard to hold. You'll want to make sure your baby's toys appeal to, and gratify their senses in the most effective way, especially their sense of touch (but even toddlers and children benefit from this).
A wooden teething ring or rattle are great first wooden toys for a newborn baby. Simple wooden toys are great in helping your baby to develop fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination as they grow older. When your baby turns into a toddler, a wooden pull-along toy keeps him/her entertained for hours!
SAFETY
A baby or child should only play with toys that are safe, especially since babies love to put things in their mouth! Chemicals and harmful substances, including BPAs and phthalates, are found in many plastic toys, while some can even contain traces of lead in the paint! Meanwhile, wood is a natural material that is safe for babies, with some species containing antibacterial properties as well. A wooden toy is also more durable, and breaks far less often than plastic toys, as well as being easier to fix when an accident occurs. When plastic toys break, sharp, jagged edges often remain behind, posing a danger to babies and children.
AESTHETICALLY PLEASING
Sustainability and aesthetics can go hand in hand here at Pink Blue Baby Shop. The beauty of wooden toys is unmatched by plastic toys. It is important that our children have lovely things and that the toys and materials around them are appealing to them so that they will be drawn to play with and explore them. Like adults, children should also benefit from beautiful materials that are aesthetically pleasing.
As a family, we find that wooden toys are so much more pleasing to the eye as they fit much more readily into the shared communal areas in our house like the living room so that they complement our decor rather than distract from it.
QUALITY OF PLAY
It's so much easier to play imaginatively with wooden toys. Due to their simpler design, and less distractions from things like sounds and lights, they are less 'formed', and therefore allow your kids to explore more! As children develop their motor skills and language skills, imaginative play is crucial because it develops their problem-solving abilities, promotes language development, and enhances fine motor skills. By the time our daughter became a toddler, she created 'characters' for his wooden animals and toys, stacked and built his wooden toys in a variety of ways and developed his motor skills from the beginning, having been exposed to wooden toys and sensory baskets. Toys made of wood are more suited to babies and young children as they are able to move them and make sounds themselves, as opposed to battery-operated toys.
SUSTAINABILITY
Wood is a resource that is environmentally friendly and sustainable. Choosing wooden toys for children and babies is the most important reason to do so. It is vitally important. Wooden toys are more environmentally friendly, recyclable, and biodegradable since they come from a naturally renewable resource.
Wooden toys because they are built to last and are typically passed from generation to generation. In a way that plastic toys do not, wooden toys lend themselves to being passed down through generations as heirloom toys. Baby and toddler toys made from wood do not tend to be 'throwaway' toys. If you pass them on to someone else as an heirloom or donate them, they will remain in a good useable condition for years to come!

]]>Along with technological advancements and urbanization, numerous safety gadgets make their way to the market, including GPS trackers. Their purpose is to protect your family and your belongings in many ways.
GPS tracking devices provide you with precise location information about people, things, or vehicles. You can use GPS trackers to discover the real-time location of your children, time spent in a particular location, and receive alerts in case of an emergency.
You can monitor your children and teens regularly without physically being present with them if you use a GPS tracker for kids. In case you are a working parent, GPS tracking is the ideal solution. Consider the following scenario: you are at work, and you wonder where your little one is. Checking your tracking device, you found they were probably playing with their kids at your neighbor's house. This saves you time and relieves your stress. By equipping your kids with GPS trackers, you will give them the freedom to enjoy their daily activities to the fullest.
You can use an advanced GPS tracking device for your child to:
Make sure your child's safety is of paramount importance to you. You can feel at ease knowing your child's exact location at all times. At any time and from anywhere, you will be able to see where they are.
GPS trackers often come with a SOS button that allows you to send an alert to your kids or emergency services with a single press of the button.
You can prevent your child's bike, skateboard, or any belonging from being stolen by installing a GPS tracker. You can get an alert from some advanced trackers when someone is trying to steal your bike, valuables, cars, motorbikes, etc.
GPS tracking allows you to see where your child has been during the week or month. It is possible to see whether they are going in the right direction and guide them accordingly.
Geofencing (a feature in GPS that enables you to set boundaries around specific areas and alerts you when a tracker enters or leaves them) allows you to receive an alert when your kid crosses a forbidden or unsafe boundary that you have set.
Children do not typically care about the safety of their belongings, like their school bag, toys like hoverboards, or any other valuable items. When they go to school or play, they may forget to bring their belongings home. These assets can be easily tracked and retrieved with a GPS tracker. This teaches your kids responsibility. With all these benefits, it makes no sense to think about whether you should invest in GPS trackers for your child.
]]>If your baby refuses your breast, it might be due to discomfort (congestion, sore throat, sore gums, illness) or frustration (startled, low milk supply). There can be other reasons, such as your baby being distracted or your mood changing (for example, you're stressed lately or you're using different personal care products).
Hopefully, everything will return to normal within a few days. Until there is a serious problem (such as your baby refuses to take a bottle or cup, is losing weight, peeing or pooping are unusual or less frequent), the nursing strike will surely end. If so, you should contact the doctor immediately. The lack of hydration and nutrients might affect the health of your baby and affect the development of his/her brain if the nursing strike is taking too long (more than a week).
Mothers worry about this refusal of breast milk because their newborns aren't being provided with enough nutrition to grow. Hence, it's essential that you continue to give your children milk through a cup or bottle during this nursing strike. Despite the stress, it is important that you are still feeding your baby in some way.
It won't be long before your baby is back at the breast. During that time, pumping or hand-expressing breastmilk is a smart way to maintain the supply. By doing this, your body knows that your milk is still needed. Milk supply will decrease if the body thinks it is no longer needed. When your baby eventually returns to the breast, this can pose a problem. If the milk supply is slow and low, the baby might become frustrated.
This nursing strike is largely driven by frustration. Along with the low milk supply that makes feeding difficult, the baby might also be frustrated with the milk's taste (the taste of the milk may be affected by hormonal changes, exercise due to lactic acid buildup, and certain medications, smoking and alcohol).
Yelling or reacting negatively to the baby could be another reason the baby was startled. It's therefore imperative to remain calm, whether you're with your baby. Stress impacts your baby's condition, including how well he or she receives your breastmilk.
It is still important to try to feed your baby, even though he/she is on a nursing strike. When your baby is already sleepy, it's okay to stop and try again later. Changing your baby's position will also help him/her feel comfortable. To minimize distractions, it's a good idea to feed your baby in a dark and quiet room. It is also helpful to maintain a relaxed attitude and have skin-to-skin contact.
It's crucial to make every breastfeeding session a positive one. By doing so, your baby will always feel at ease and relaxed. If your baby regularly receives enough breastmilk, he/she will be able to develop appropriately physically and mentally.
Please contact your family doctor for more information.
]]>The overwhelming love and joy a newborn brings cannot be prepared for, but you can take precautions for safety. There will be questions (there are always questions), but these precautions are crucial to keep your baby safe.
Make sure your baby has a first aid kit, thermometer, Tylenol, and Motrin on hand for any first-time scrape or illness. Check expiration dates regularly, so you don't need to scramble when the sniffles strike, and make sure every caregiver knows where these supplies are.
Humidifiers will keep your baby's nose from becoming irritated and soothe irritation in their tiny nostrils. It can also be used all year to help them get better sleep.
The FDA says children under two shouldn't put decongestants or cough syrups in their mouths; instead, invest in a nose-sucker and use natural remedies like saline spray and organic chest rubs.
For a while, you'll be living with a new roommate. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends keeping your new baby in your room (not your bed) during the first few weeks, so get a bassinet, or a playground with a removable bassinet, to put right beside you.
When your child moves into their own room, you should keep their crib as minimalist as possible; the AAP recommends no blankets, pillows, or stuffed animals until at least age two. You can wrap your newborn in a swaddle or sleep sack for extra warmth, and always place them on their back to sleep.
You can let your child sleep with a pacifier if he/she likes it. According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, sucking helps keep your baby's airway open and may help prevent SIDS. Perhaps you should wean them off after six months, before it turns into a habit difficult to break.
Sleeping safely extends to you, too. Setting your phone alarm to sound every few minutes during late-night feedings will prevent you from falling asleep holding your newborn if you have trouble staying awake.
Consider getting to know your car seat in advance, as your hospital will require you to take your baby out of the hospital safely buckled in their car seat. Ensure your car seat base is secured in your car if you'll be driving home from the hospital. Practice buckling and adjusting the straps before having a tiny newborn in the seat.
A good fit is crucial. 5-point harnesses offer the best protection for newborns. Be sure to check these three things when you're buckling up: chest, shoulders, legs. Chest clips should not be higher or lower than armpit level. When baby is rear-facing, the shoulder straps should go through the seat cushion just above or below baby's shoulders. It is important to keep the buckle between the legs from tucking behind the baby's bum.
Finding an expert to install your car seat can be challenging, so be sure you do it correctly. You can find Child Passenger Safety Technicians in your area at Safekids.org.
Never put a coat on the car seat. They impede a snug-fitting harness, and a snug harness is what keeps your baby safe.
Germs are inevitable. The cotton car seat cover will keep your infant's airway safe indoors while they aren't able to wear a mask.
Look at your house from your baby's perspective. After they become mobile, they'll be curious about everything in sight, so prepare by padding corners, locking cabinets, and covering outlets.
A baby gate can keep your baby safe if there are stairs in your home or rooms that are off limits. Baby playgrounds can be used to create smaller safe areas in larger rooms or outdoors.
Your baby will climb if it is not enclosed. Besides climbing, he will also pull and bump. Ensure that all large pieces of furniture in your house are secured to the wall so that they do not tip over.
Ensure that you babyproof your entire house. Keeping your bathroom safe with a cushioned faucet cover and your kitchen secure with cabinet safety locks.
Keeping your baby's toys clean with a natural cleaner is important since they will inevitably put everything in their mouth. Soft fabric toy chests won't slam shut on your baby's fingers when it's time to tidy up.
Keep an eye out for broken or loose parts in your infant's toys. To learn more about how to buy toys that are safe, visit the AAP.
When your baby snoozes, remove him from a bouncer, rocker, or activity center, recommends the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). During the first few months, babies should sleep on firm, flat surfaces that are safe for them.
CPSC also recommends putting a toy through a paper towel roll to determine whether it's too small for a baby. A toy that fits is too small.
]]>There are more than 450,000 babies born every day in the world. In those hundreds of thousands of births and pregnancies, a very small percentage resulted in stillbirth or maternal death. The majority of causes can be prevented, especially if continuity of care (the same medical professional or group of people watching over you from pregnancy to delivery) is maintained.
A healthy weight, regular exercise, a healthy diet, and sufficient sleep are crucial for mums. These factors will help moms maintain the strength they need during pregnancy and labor.
Here are some of the thing's mums can do to stay strong and healthy during pregnancy include:
A baby is a huge financial and emotional commitment. Below are a few tips to help you prepare:
Your health and your baby’s can be affected by financial problems and worries. Take notes about what bothers you and how you plan to deal with them. This will help you clarify the issues and possibly find an effective solution.
You should review your rights and talk to your employer or employees if you are concerned that pregnancy will affect your career or business. By doing this, they can prepare themselves as well, especially when it's time for your maternal leave. There will be no stress involved, and you will be able to concentrate on your pregnancy and the baby better.
]]>The umbilical cord stump is typically still attached to babies when they leave the hospital. It can take up to two weeks for it to fall off. The first bath will have to wait until their umbilical cord stumps have dried up, fallen off, and completely healed. While you wait, you can still make sure that your newborn is clean and well cared for!
Usually, the umbilical cord stump falls off after about 1 to 3 weeks. However, the umbilical cord should be kept clean until it is completely healed. This is best done by moistening the cotton swab with water, gently wiping around the base of the umbilical cord stump and drying with the other end.
Even though there may be blood in the area around the belly button during this period of time, keeping the area clean and dry will prevent infection and delays in healing. It is rare for an infection to occur, but it is important to be aware of the warning signs that it may occur. A red, swollen, painful, odorous, or continuous yellow discharge may indicate that there is an infection and medical attention may be required.
In general, you want to make sure the umbilical cord of your newborn is kept clean and dry. For better protection, fold the diaper down away from the belly button area, or purchase newborn diapers that already have a cutout for the umbilical cord stump. When possible, dress your baby in loose-fitting t-shirts and avoid bodysuits or tight undershirts.
The umbilical cord stump should never be pulled on, even when it appears mostly dried up. Allowing the stump to fall off completely will greatly improve healing.
It's best to give your baby sponge baths until the umbilical cord falls off. This will keep their fingernails, toes, faces, and bodies clean while keeping their umbilical cord stump dry! You should only sponge bathe your newborn 1-2 times per week as too much bathing can cause the skin to become dry or irritated.
Ensure you have all of the bath items you need within reach before you begin. You will need mild soap, washcloths, warm water in a plastic cup, a large towel, a clean diaper, and fresh clothes nearby. It will be more comfortable for your newborn if the room is warm and cozy before you take them out of their clothes.
Parents may choose to lay out a towel and sponge on any mat or surface that is soft and comfortable, or they may wish to place their babies in an infant bathtub lined with a large, dry towel.
You should start sponge bathing your newborn from the top of their head to the tips of their toes when you are ready. Gently wash your baby with a wet washcloth and a dime-sized amount of mild soap. Be careful not to expose their eyes, ears, nose, and mouth to the soapy suds from the washcloth.
You should pay special attention to crevices and small spaces around the neck, between the toes and fingers, and behind the ears. To keep your newborn comfortable and warm, you can place a warm washcloth on areas that aren't currently being cleaned while you wash your baby. Wipe away all of the soapy suds left on the washcloth by rinsing it with warm water (or using another washcloth).
Support the head and neck of your baby and keep the umbilical cord dry at all times. Make sure you dry it quickly if it gets wet during the sponge bath. Finish up by soaking up the fresh, newborn cuddles by wrapping your baby in a towel. After the umbilical cord stump has fallen off and healed, your baby will be ready to take a full bath in no time! When the time comes, choose some fun baby bath toys to create a memorable and enjoyable experience!]]>
Water attracts babies, and they soon discover how much fun it is to splash in it. Your new baby will be safe if you protect him or her from potential water hazards. American Academy of Pediatrics recommends some water safety tips.
You may be surprised to find out that babies can drown in just one or two inches of water. It can occur silently within seconds. Babies have little control over their necks or muscles. Any amount of water covering their nose or mouth will prevent them from breathing.
Remember: Don't leave your baby alone in or near water, or even in the care of another young child.
As soon as you bring your baby home, start thinking about her safety around water. The development of movements and motor skills in infants is amazing and unpredictable. Infants have a hard time predicting exactly when they will start reaching, rolling over, crawling, pulling themselves up and walking. Staying one step ahead is the best way to ensure their safety.
Baby's first bath is often the perfect time for new parents to practice water safety. Keep these tips in mind whenever you are bathing your baby:
More than half of all child drownings in bathtubs occur when the child is under 1 year old.
It is common for bathtub drownings to occur when an adult fails to supervise a child. Bring your baby when you forget something or need to answer the door. You should do this even when using a bathtub or bath seat for your infant. In even a few inches of water in the tub, infant bath seats can tip over and children can drown.
An AAP recommendation is to keep the faucet's hottest temperature below 120 degrees Fahrenheit to prevent scald burns. Many water heaters have a setting that prevents them from going above this temperature.
Open-top water containers should never be left unattended. Any time you are not using these containers, make sure they are completely emptied.
The fence should surround all 4 sides of swimming pools, including large, inflatable above-ground pools. A pool fence should:
Keep the gate locked at all times and check it frequently. During non-swimming hours, keep toys away from the pool area to prevent children from trying to get through the fence. Ensure that spas and whirlpools are always covered and locked right after use.
Ensure that your yard and surrounding area are free of any other water hazards before your baby begins to crawl or walk. You should always watch your child closely whenever they are near water:
Ensure the safety of your baby around water*while you are at home, at your friends', relatives', and caregivers' homes, as well as when you are away from home. Start talking with your pediatrician about protecting your baby against common water dangers during the first wellness visit.
]]>You can begin right now or even at the time of your child's birth. The story might not be fully understood by newborns, but it still aids in brain development. This is because they will begin to learn ways to communicate. More importantly, reading to them and telling them stories help strengthen your bond with them.
During your baby's brain development, reading to him or her will help stimulate their imagination. A variety of words and sounds will also be introduced to your child through reading and storytelling. As your child grows, his/her range of thoughts will expand, which will be a slow and gradual process that will be beneficial in years to come.
It's like giving him/her a head start. The fact that your child will develop rapidly does not guarantee that they will achieve developmental milestones at an earlier age than their peers. It's certain that you are providing your child with an early advantage in the best way you can. This early advantage is vital in your baby's rapid cognitive development, whether it's about expanding his vocabulary and learning how to make sense of the world.
Early exposure to a variety of words and sounds can also boost a child's communication and social skills. Your child will be able to repeat the words you pronounced in story time within a few weeks or months. It won't be long before your child will use many of those words on his or her own. Your child can communicate better when they have that "reserve" of words, which can help them in their social skills.
It is vital that you read to your baby in the early years. However, how do you maximize your reading time and make it more enjoyable?
One way is by finding a quiet place to read in. Silence is important so that your child can focus on your voice and better hear the story.
The other way is to actually enjoy your reading time. You will positively affect your baby with your energy and enthusiasm, so the stories will be more exciting and engaging. It's important to fill yourself with energy and enthusiasm before the reading period begins. By doing so, both you and your baby will enjoy sharing stories and bonding.
This should always be a fun and relaxing experience for both of you. After all, we don't escape reality through stories. By immersing ourselves in new worlds, we are experiencing universal emotions and experiencing new experiences. The same thing applies to our children, they get to experience life more while at the same time developing rapidly.
]]>What are the challenges faced by first-time moms?
When something goes wrong with your baby, you Google it. The thought of becoming a mother seems too much for you, and you wonder: Am I really ready for this? Is this that I have signed up for?
Months before the birth of your baby, you prepared for this event. However, your preparations didn't seem sufficient for you to be fully prepared.
Don't punish yourself too much. Other mothers figured it out as they went along (with some early preparation, of course). Despite their hardships, they managed to survive the first six months and beyond. They question themselves every day if what they did was the right thing and if they can handle this new responsibility.
Despite their full-time work or running businesses, many of these mums have been able to raise their newborns. Ultimately, this too shall pass, as everything else in life does. The same is true for mums all over the world, so it will be the same for you as well.
Let's stop talking about motivation and mindset. It's time to talk tactics. How can you prepare for what lies ahead for the next weeks and months? What is the best way to manage being an overworked and sleep-deprived mother?
You should first start to consider your job or business if you want more sleep and a bit less work. Find out if your employer offers parental leave so you can spend more time with your baby. It might be wise to slow down or delegate some task to someone else if you run a business. It's very likely that you'll still have a job or business to run.
You're not just taking a short break to spend more time with your baby. Moreover, the goal is to make the transition as smooth and easy for your mind and body as possible. In the beginning, you feel overwhelmed and things seem to be happening too fast. Because you're already doing so much, you don't have time to catch your breath.
As mothers, we're great at multitasking. However, our brains need time to process everything.
As humans, we need time (and rituals) to prepare. That's why most rites and ceremonies (weddings, baby showers, anniversaries) have religious overtones. In addition to announcing the change, these events and ceremonies prepare the people for their new lives.
Even if your job or business slows down, don't expect everything to suddenly become easier. Especially in the first two months, being a new mother is never easy because of the sleepless nights. Even though your baby has just begun to establish a routine after nine months of darkness, he/she still has a tiny stomach that needs to be fed from time to time. One reason your baby wakes up frequently is that he/she gets hungry frequently.
Things become easier or more predictable after two or three months. You and your baby will finally be getting more sleep. Slowly, a routine will develop, allowing you to focus on your job, business, and other responsibilities. And yet, the challenges continue.
You always rush to know what's wrong if your child cries. Fortunately, it usually falls under one of these categories: your baby is hungry, her diaper is dirty, she is too hot or too cold (uncomfortable) or she is sick. Crying is the baby's way of letting you know that something is wrong since he/she cannot talk yet. However, what if your baby doesn't stop, and you aren't able to figure out why? If your baby starts crying this time, pat his/her back gently, swaddle him/her, or even sing to calm him/her. Some mothers experiment with what soothes their babies most effectively. After some time, you'll learn what is the one trick that will work best for your newborn (and finally get your baby to sleep again).
Being a first-time mother and having a newborn usually means sleepless nights, multitasking, and lots of responsibility and challenges. Those words alone are exhausting.
However, let's not forget that it's all temporary, so we should make the most of this period. Before we know it, they're already running around as toddlers. Six months go by so fast. We should enjoy the days and nights with our babies because no matter what we do, time will pass anyway.
]]>Let's first talk about safety. Children and babies under 36 months of age are subject to strict standards to ensure their safety. The toys should be large enough and there should be no small parts falling off. This is to keep the child from choking or suffocating. Moreover, the toys, as well as their parts and surfaces, should be free of physical and chemical hazards.
Standards have been set by government agencies to prevent injuries to babies and children when interacting with toys (some information here for those in the USA, UK, Australia). Standardization was the result of product testing and continuous assessment (often by independent laboratories). Toys, for instance, have specific sizes specified for both the parts (that may or may not come off) and the actual toy. Moreover, the toy manufacturer should anticipate every possible behavior that could occur while children play with the toys.
Toys still need to be chosen carefully, even with those standards. When purchasing a product, parents should examine the product label and note the manufacturer's age recommendations and warnings. To purchase a product, we read product reviews online and gather as much information about it as we can (latest recalls and news regarding the toy and its components and manufacturer) before making a purchase. Even when it is a stuffed toy, parents must check for sharp ends and edges. By doing so, parents can ensure their babies' safety and gain total peace of mind.
Now that safety has been ensured, we can look for toys that will stimulate our children's minds and bodies. Toys should, however, be within the capability of our children (which is why there are recommended toys according to the child's age).
The best toys for babies between zero and six months of age are objects that they can shake and make noise with. They are great for stimulating their senses and entertaining them.
Babies over the age of seven to twelve months should be given toys that enable them to interact with, explore, and imagine (e.g. cars with wheels, puppets, dolls, a ball, soft blocks).
Children who are one year old are ready for simple puzzles, while children who are two are ready for creative expression (drawing, painting).
As the child grows older, the toys become more sophisticated and involve their senses as well as their cognitive abilities. The key to maximizing learning and fun is to have the child use and interact with a variety of toys. As a result, they quickly gain a variety of experiences and the various parts of their brains are stimulated constantly (which is particularly important during their early development because of rapid brain growth).
Learning, having fun, and staying safe are the priorities. Be sure to read all the available information about the products you choose for your baby before making a decision. It's still important to choose a toy that is safe and an optimal fit for your child, even if his or her enjoyment will be short-lived.
Young children are prone to bedwetting. Until they reach the age of five, it's normal for them to wet the bed.
Kids have no control over it because it happens during sleep. The first thing we need to do as parents is reassuring our children. Whenever we're upset, our children feel it more acutely and can negatively impact their self-esteem.
Bedwetting can't be fixed or treated overnight. Children may eventually outgrow it, but it still takes time. The best we can do as parents is to prevent it as early as possible and reduce the psychological and social effects of bedwetting.
Our immediate problems have to be resolved first since it is a process. The smell of urine, for instance, can stay on your child for a long time. If your child is going to school or pre-school, it is advisable that you give him/her a bath or a shower. Failing to do so could cause embarrassment to your child. It could also lead to other children ridiculing your child. Psychologically and socially, this could be detrimental to him/her in the long run. It is common for children to remember teasing for the rest of their lives.
Taking care of our children is also an immediate problem. The slightest anger will show in our speech and actions. When your child wets the bed, observe how he or she looks at you. Your sense of guilt is immediately apparent as you talk and clean the mess.
That's why patience and understanding are crucial. Kids go through this process naturally and it's outside of their control. When we are upset with our children, they may take action on their own to stop bedwetting. For instance, they might limit how much water they drink so that they will not pee at night (or pee less). Five-year-olds and younger are good at forming associations between things. A child can figure out very early that drinking too much water leads to frequent urination.
Be understanding and patient. Instead of blaming the child, concentrate on the problem. Remember that it's involuntary and out of your child's control.
Since bedwetting isn't caused by anything specific, it can be difficult to stop it for good. You still can minimize the impact of it. You can do the following:
A good night's sleep may also reduce or prevent bedwetting. The reason for this is that a good night's sleep will improve brain function. You shouldn't wake your child up at 1am to encourage them to pee. It is important to understand that bedwetting often occurs involuntarily. Whether or not you wake your child at 1am, bedwetting can still occur at other hours.
Counseling is often requested by parents so that their kids can better deal with bedwetting. Particularly when a parent suspects that bedwetting is caused by an emotional problem. For example, kids had been sleeping through the night for several months, but suddenly it started happening again. Psychological factors may have been involved.
Treating or solving enuresis (involuntary urination, especially in children at night) is a slow process. We mentioned earlier that the majority of children will grow out of it without any intervention. However, this process may take several months or even years.
Parents try a variety of options, including bladder-training programs and medications. This has been successful for some kids. However, both have drawbacks.
First, the child must be willing to undergo bladder-training. Moreover, these types of programs are more useful if the child has daytime wetting problems (even when awake, urination is hard to control).
The second problem is that medications only have a temporary effect. Even if medication produces good results, the problem may reappear once the medication is stopped. Whenever possible, it's a good idea to rely on minimally invasive measures first.
It is said that bedwetting can be effectively treated with enuresis alarms without the use of medications. This works due to behavioral conditioning, whereby the alarm is triggered when the child urinates early in the night (the alarm detects wetting). The loud alarm wakes the parents and/or the child.
This is also a kind of training but can be more effective. When the alarm sounds, the child can be conditioned or trained to go to the bathroom immediately.
Doctors, hospitals, and child health nurses can recommend bedwetting alarms.
A young child wetting their bed is just normal. There is no clear cause for our child's behavior, but we can take effective steps to help him or her through this difficult time.
Even if your child is 6 or 7, getting professional assistance is recommended if they wet the bed.
Bedwetting can ruin kids' confidence at this age since they are more aware of themselves. If your child starts wetting the bed suddenly after months with no problems, you should call the doctor because it could be a psychological problem or something more serious.
The best we can do as parents is cope and realize that it will pass soon enough. It's part of being a parent and about helping the kids cope with this phase positively.

Pregnancy has always been one of the most beautiful periods of a women's life. Since the Covid-19 pandemic, the women’s worry for pregnancy and childbirth has reached another level which is worrisome for not only the baby but the mother as well. Your stress and increasing emotional mirage may lead to threatening not only your life but your unborn child’s life as well.
Emotional dilemma:
The pregnant females have been affected in previous epidemics but the possibility of Covid-19 transmission from women to a child has not been answered by the researchers or doctors with great satisfaction yet. The level of fear and anxiety among pregnant females is valid; it is increasing with the increasing cases of covid-19 affected people. You might wonder if the Covid-19 might complicate your pregnancy or the rate of death in pregnant women who are affected by the pandemic and the fear of uncertainty of vaccination and its effectiveness in pregnant females.
Does Covid-19 affect pregnant females?
The studies that have been conducted about coronavirus affecting pregnant females yet, show no such indication that if you are pregnant then you are most likely to get affected by a coronavirus. On the other hand, researchers and paramedical staff spread awareness that pregnant females are at the most vulnerable period of their life which means that their immune system is not that strong to protect the body against such pandemics. The one thing you can do is to take care by preventing unnecessary interactions to avoid Covid-19 as much as possible.
Covid-19 transmission from mother to child:
Since the Coronavirus pandemic came into existent, there has been no such case where the child might receive Covid-19 from the mother's body. Therefore you need not stress over the transmission of covid-19 to your baby. No birth defects have been recorded due to the pandemic as well. But just for your assurance, you can go for a routine checkup through an ultrasound mechanism in case you are infected with the virus.
Risk of complications due to Covid-19:
You are not at the risk of severe complications due to coronavirus but if you are suffering from a severe coronavirus situation, then your body might push the baby for preterm birth through C-section delivery. Try to avoid unnecessary interactions during the pandemic as it is dangerous for non-pregnant females but more threatening for pregnant females.
Should you receive vaccination during pregnancy?
The vaccination against coronavirus will not adversely impact your pregnancy, rather it will protect your body when it is at the most vulnerable period of your life. The vaccination, however, is given by measuring the extent of pregnancy requirement to cover both you and your child's immunity against coronavirus.
Delivery in hospitals during a pandemic:
Hospitals have become dangerous for pregnant females to go for delivery. Some hospitals make sure that the paramedical staff dealing with covid-19 patients are kept under great scrutiny to protect the rest of the staff from dealing with critical situations like accidents or labor. Therefore, make sure to search for the right hospital that has the appropriate methods to deal with pregnant females.
Protection gear during delivery:
Due to the pandemic situation, the hospitals have updated the policies during the labor or delivery of newborn babies. You have to wear a mask while you are not in your confinement. The person dealing with you before and after labor in the hospital will also wear a mask, gloves and ensure the protective gear is intact while interacting with you.
What do you need to do during your pregnancy in a Coronavirus situation?
For precautionary purposes, you should follow the advice and rules set forward by your governmental committees. This refers to instructions like avoid crowded or rush areas, maintain social distancing while interacting during shopping or other purposes, and avoid interacting with people who appear to show symptoms like fever, body pain, or more relatable Covid symptoms. Try to exercise during your pregnancy period to keep yourself active and boost your energy level. You can also attend your appointments with your doctor under careful conditions. If you are in your early stages of pregnancy, try to avoid any kind of unwanted interaction which may result in coronavirus spreading from the host’s body to you. There are some tips that you can follow during the pandemic situation;
Will Covid-19 affect the birth of a baby?
The coronavirus has not yet shown symptoms of affecting the child's birth as it is for miscarriage. While you shouldn't be too concerned about miscarriage, you need to work on is your emotional dilemma and stressful condition. Your stress and anxiety might be the building cause for miscarriage in the early stages and therefore try to meditate or eat healthy to prevent any mishaps. Scientific researchers have conducted studies that indicate that the pandemic has not lead to miscarriage but preterm birth. The mothers who are affected by the coronavirus have given birth to the babies before the expected time. Most of the cases lead to the C-section delivery method as the virus impacts the immune system of the mother’s body under such vulnerable conditions. The rate of miscarriage was almost negligible but the most highlighted cause was the mother’s anxiety and stress.
Final words:
In general, you have to be careful during your pregnancy especially if you are in your first trimester. You are more prone to getting affected by covid-19 as your immunity is at its weakest during this period. However, you need not worry about miscarrying your baby, most cases involve early childbirth in this situation. Great fun toys at the best prices!

The main thing to remember about infants is that your baby will perceive things differently when compared to adults or toddlers. There are some main actions that babies do during their early stages of life, after being born, which includes:
The five senses in humans are already present by birth but the two of them like; hearing and touch are completely developed at the time of birth. However, the other senses like; vision, smell, and taste, take time to fully develop throughout the growing period of an infant. This is not something to worry about therefore, you can also use some tips and tricks to stimulate your baby's senses.
Sense of Vision
Your baby might not see things clearly in the very beginning stages right after birth. The farthest distance that your baby's vision can cover is around 8 or 12 inches which are also a little fuzzy and blurry. The only thing that your baby will notice is the shapes of an object or the shadows depending upon the size of the object in the line of vision. But this is for early-stage babies, when your baby enters the fourth month after birth, their sense of vision will enhance and they might start tracking objects with their eyes. By the fifth month, your baby will be able to observe the objects rather deeply. During the age of four to six months, your baby will start observing different colors of objects as well.
How to enhance your baby’s vision:

Sense of Hearing
A baby starts hearing while they are still inside the womb. Your child is most likely familiar with your voice and would incur your voice as a soothing medium. Your baby’s sense of hearing is fully developed from the early stages unlike other senses, therefore they might get startled when a door slams shut because they are very sensitive to their new surroundings.
How to enhance your baby’s hearing:
You can enhance your baby’s sense of hearing by trying the following steps;
Sense of Touch
The sense of touch is also well-developed in your baby at the time of birth. Your baby might be able to distinguish between various types of shapes, temperature, and texture. During the early period after the baby is born, your baby might want you to hold them all the time because your touch will assure them of a secure feeling and brings comfort.
How to enhance your baby’s touch:

The baby’s senses develop from highly specialized senses towards the less specialized senses. The pattern follows as the sense of sight is the first one to be perceived followed by a sense of hearing, touch, smell, and taste at the very end, which enhances progressively.
]]>Many new parents want to know when it is safe to travel with a newborn baby.
The newborn babies are prone to fatigue as their body takes some time to adjust to their new environment. Bottom line, unless it is essential, you should put off travelling until your baby is a least few months old.
Vaccine-preventable diseases are also a concern at this age, as babies haven't had time to get vaccines and be fully protected against these illnesses. The most probable concern is that your baby might fall prey to sickness as they get exposed to a large number of people all at once while traveling through a train, bus, or airplane. Due to their health conditions in the early stages, most parents prefer to stay at home until the baby is few months old.
Below are some tips that will help you organize for traveling.
Essential items to pack while traveling with a baby:
For a newborn baby, it might be hard to adjust the traveling routine. You will need to prepare for every type of necessity that your baby might need including wipes and diapers, depending upon how many hours it takes during traveling. Besides this some other items for your baby's need might include: strollers, adjustable front, and back chest straps to hold the baby.
Essential items for long-term travel with your newborn:
Things might be a little different for you and your newborn during long-term travel. Make sure that they feel comfy and peaceful by bringing the following items along with you during the trip:
Medicine kit for traveling with babies:
Ensure that you are well prepared to deal with your baby’s chronic or acute illness while you are traveling. The medical kit should contain all the relevant medicines that your baby might need when they face a runny nose, asthma problem, diarrhea, coughing, and so on. The main items that the medicine kit should include consists of:
You also should learn how to deal with emergencies like CPR, when a baby is choking, and so on.
Traveling by plane with a baby:
Traveling with a baby through an airplane requires vaccination and passport verification for travel permission. Here’re some tips and points that give insight about traveling with your baby by plane:
Traveling by bus or train with a baby:
Traveling through the train or bus might also be uncomfortable for newborn babies due to rush or crowded areas. Some of the tips and tricks to travel with a newborn include:
Traveling in your car with your baby:
Traveling by your car is the most comfortable traveling mean if you are taking your newborn along with you. In the other hand, driving can still be stressful for both, parents and baby. Especially on a longer trip, you will have to stop every few hours for feedings, diaper changes, and simply to comfort your baby. Furthermore, parents of a newborn are likely going to be a little sleep deprived, which may be dangerous to drive a long distance.
But additional points and some tips are to be kept in mind if you want to reach your destination without any problem:
Enjoy the trip:
Avoid heavy traffic and rush hour. This way, the journey itself is a reward already.
Once you arrive at your destination, take it slow and give your baby a chance to acclimate. Keep in mind that it’s an entirely new environment for your baby and he/she needs time to adjust because everything’s new and the whole place could be overwhelming. But given enough time, your baby will surely enjoy the new environment.
Final words:
Traveling with your baby is risky if your child is less than one month of age. Doctors recommend new parents stay put while their child's immunity enhances during the period. At most the child should be around two months of age at the minimum for you to travel along with them.
⚠️ Important to remember: ask your doctor advise before travelling

The new parents' level of excitement is natural after you welcome a newly born baby into your life; followed by the stress of taking care of the newly born baby, which is completely normal.
It can be avoided if new parents prepare themselves beforehand. A little guidance from here and there would surely calm you down. Early preparation will enable you to prevent stressful situations, and your lead instincts will guide you on what to do and how to take care of your newborn baby. Some of the tips for taking care of the baby are:
Hygiene
The hygienic condition of the newly born baby is critical for new parents. You need to keep in mind that their newborn babies are very vulnerable to germs and exposure to any other kind of allergy or illness. The newborn babies do not have strong immune systems yet, at such an early stage of life; therefore, your baby is more susceptible to bacterial and viral infections.
Besides the optimum hygienic baby care for a healthy newborn, an important piece of advice for new parents is to prepare yourself as much as you can ahead of time by taking care of certain things; like cooking meals and freezing them, forming a birth plan, and buying what your baby will need for the better, in advance.
Product selection
The parenting tips for taking care of your newborn babies at early stages are incomplete without the provided guidelines on how to choose the right baby products, free of toxic elements. The near to ideal baby product should not be harsh on your baby's eyes or skin, cause dryness of the baby's skin or disrupt skin’s natural barrier. Your newly born baby's product should be:
Scientific research has declared that gentle massages against the baby's skin can relax them, improve your newborn baby's sleeping patterns, and calm them down when your baby is irritable due to something. Giving the baby a massage is also a great way to bond with them in the early stages. Baby massage is one of the soothing ways to calm your baby down when they are crying or to help your baby sleep.
Freshen up the baby
Freshening up your newly born baby can be a great bonding experience after every bath, soothing massage, and diaper change. You can use anti-rash and skin-softening powder, which protects your baby's skin from excess moisture and leaves it soft and smooth. The powder eliminates friction while keeping skin cool and comfortable at its best.
Holding a baby
Since your baby is fragile at an earlier stage, there are some ways to hold the baby like; the newborn's neck muscles are not yet developed, so you will need to support your baby's head whenever you pick your baby up. You should also support your baby's head against your shoulder or with your opposite hand while carrying them.
The newborn may feel fragile and delicate to everyone, but the caretaker should not be afraid to touch, handle, or hold them. Instead, some studies show that babies who are held for more than 2 hours per day thrive better and cry less because of the interaction.
Diapers
The new parents are often surprised at the number of diapers their baby goes through in a day. To make life easier for yourself, you must store plenty of diapers beforehand, do not leave this task for the very end, considering your baby needs to be changed of the diaper several times a day. It's also helpful to learn to change your baby's diaper ahead of time, considering your newborn's delicate and fragile features.
One small issue that you cannot get over is the nappy rashes, as most children aged between 0 to 2 years develop a diaper rash somehow. When you see the first sign of redness, you need to apply a safe yet effective zinc oxide-based cream on the diaper area to prevent rashness from creating a burn and itchy feeling. Thereby, to keep your baby's diaper area dry, you must apply a baby diaper rash powder at every diaper interval. This anti-rash powder repels moisture and reduces friction on the skin, thereby providing complete protection against rashness.
Sleep
The sleep patterns of babies change as they grow up. Your newborn baby will sleep through a major part of the day, waking up often during the day and night. Even after this, you can still develop a proper bedtime routine for your baby from an early stage, as early as 6 to 8 weeks.
As your baby grows up, they start to develop a concrete nighttime sleep routine rather than with fewer daytime naps. You can help your baby with their sleep routine by teaching them that nighttime is for sleep and not play. Also, little adjustments to your baby’s sleep schedule require some effort and full concentration on your baby. After some time, your baby learns and keeps up with the schedule regardless of any help.
Final words
Parents of the newly born baby can be perplexed about some aspects while taking care of their newborn, which is quite normal, given the conditions. Some help from the family members or a piece of advice from an expert would not drag them back like some competition. With time everything sets in place, but the first few weeks are the most important as you welcome a fragile and delicate being as a new addition to your family.

Is my baby hungry? Is he/she well or feel pains? Are the nappy dirty? Is it too cold or too warm? Is the baby uncomfortable?
It could be because of many different reasons.
Below article has the objective to answer some of your questions and help you dealing with a crying baby.
Is your baby 3-months old or less and has the following symptoms?
If yes, please read the article below.
Causes of Unexplained Crying
If a baby could talk, he/she may say: “Mommy, I need your attention because”:
Other reasons include:
What is a colic in babies:
What causes colic in babies?
Although it’s a very common case, colic is still poorly understood. Studies shows that even with often crying outbursts, babies still grow and gain weight normally. In addition, there’s no clear evidence yet if colic has any long-term effects to the baby’s health.
While the baby remains fine after colic episodes, mums, however, are working harder when comforting a colic baby. When persistent crying occurs, new mums feel helpless, some even cry because may feel they’re doing something wrong.
But don’t worry, thankfully, this phase will eventually pass within three to five months.
“How to soothe a normal or colic baby?” section will provide you with tips how to comfort a crying baby.
Here are some myths about baby’s crying causes:
How to soothe a normal or colic baby?
What do you need to know about baby crying?
Normal crying: All normal babies have 1 to 2 hours of unexplained crying each day. As long as they are happy when they are not crying, no need to be worried, this is normal.
Colic crying: Some babies also cry over 3 hours per day. If growing normally and have a normal medical exam, the crying is called colic. Keep in mind that colic is due to your baby's temperament and has nothing to do with a medical disease. See baby colic remedies below.
How to help both types of crying:
⚠️ Don't cover your baby's head or overheat your baby.
Stop using swaddling method when your baby shows signs of rolling over. When about 2 months, transfer to a sleeping bag with the arms out.
⚠️ Be careful, too loud white noise my harm baby’s hearing.
Turn off the white sound if baby isn’t sleeping or crying so the baby listens and gets used with other sounds in the house.
The above recommendations are also applicable for breastfed colic babies.
How Long Should I Let a Normal or Colic Baby Cry?
Earlier we mentioned that crying outbursts are normal and, in some occasions, may take up to several hours before the baby calms down.
In one hand, studies show that colic doesn’t indicate any underlying medical condition, or it doesn’t result to long-term effects to the baby’s health.
In the other hand, keep in mind that crying may signal that the baby experiences distress, discomfort, or pain. While crying is good because your baby somehow communicates its needs, ⚠️ it may be harmful if not receiving the attention or care he/she often needs.
It’s the reason you need to quickly attend to your baby when he/she cries, in particular during the first several months. Remember to be gentle and relaxed when soothing your baby because your mood has a significant impact on how he/she responds. Trying to rush it often makes it longer and more difficult … so be patient, keep it slow and steady and will likely get results faster.
Some mums allow their babies to cry for a while (let babies vent for some time). The main question is, how long should you allow this? Should you be worried about the potential long-term health of prolonged crying?
As discussed above, if everything looks normal, follow the steps described in “How to soothe a normal or colic baby?” section; these methods will work most of the time.
⚠️ Always remember that whenever cries, your baby needs or wants your immediate attention.
Although crying in babies is normal, there are times when you should call a doctor immediately.

How To Baby Sleep Training?
It is important to teach babies to fall asleep on themselves. This is good not only for the baby (to establish some sort of independence) but for the parents to get a good night rest too.
It will take time before the baby’s sleep pattern gets established, but your patience will be worthwhile.
In the early weeks, establish a feeding and sleeping routine (when and where your baby should fall asleep); this is the best way to provide some sort of predictability to your baby’s life. Don’t worry if it isn’t perfect but this is far better than a totally unpredictable routine. Such routine makes it easier for your baby to get back to sleep after some crying.
When your baby is 6 weeks old (and already learned to cope with the environment), let him/her cry for a while before offering some comfort. How long is too long? Since this is “baby sleep training”, start small and build up as you go along.
In the beginning, let your baby crying for 2 to 3 minutes then, if wakes up leave the baby alone for 5 to 8 minutes. Second night, you start with 5 minutes and 8 to 10 min if your child’s sleep gets interrupted for the second time.
The goal here is to train your baby to get back to sleep on his or her own after some crying; gradually increase the time on the subsequent nights.
Please remember that on some occasions this approach won’t work, and you’ll have to start from zero; wait a few days then try again.
The Best Part Having a Baby
It is normal for new mums to feel clueless whenever their newborns cry … But it’s all temporary. By 4-5 months old and beyond, your child will have a more predictable pattern and routine. Life becomes easier as the daily routine will focus more on playtime rather than the unpredictable crying episodes.
Having a newborn is exhausting, there is no doubt about it … but at the same time is so awesome: make this a wonderful experience and enjoy the smell of your baby, the moments when feel his/her heartbeat as sleeps on your chest, watching your baby’s facial expressions as he dreams … you’ll cherish these moments forever and make you so proud of what you achieve.
⚠️ Important to remember: contact your doctor if your child develops any of the “When To Call The Doctor For Crying Baby” symptoms.

]]>While on one hand, you cannot wait to see that little creature in the tub and find out how your baby will react to water, on the other hand, you are not sure what to do or even how to hold him.
You have a lot of questions, from the temperature of the water to the right time to bath, from how often to bath the baby to what products to use.
But don't worry, with our advice and a few days of practice you will become a pro and will enjoy these magical moments with your little one for the years to come.
So, let's find out how to bath a baby step by step.
When to give the first bath to your new-born baby?
Many new parents ask how to bath a new born baby with umbilical cord.
The W.H.O. recommends delaying the first bath until at least 24 hours after birth. Other doctors suggest waiting up to 48 hours or more.
Most agree that it is best to wait for the abutment of the umbilical cord to detach before proceeding with a dip bath.
This is because the care of the stump can be complex and, for it to detach properly, the cord must be dry.
The detachment generally occurs between 8 and 10 days after birth, so you won't have to wait too long for your baby's first bath.
Until the umbilical cord falls off, it is best to give your baby sponge baths. This will help keep their little hands, feet, faces, and bodies clean, while keeping their umbilical cord stump clean and dry! A sponge bath is truly only needed 1-2 times per week, as too frequent bathing can cause newborn skin to become dry or irritated.
For more information, check out our blog post on How to bath your baby with umbilical cord on?
When is the best time of the day to bathe a baby?
Before anything else, don’t let bathe time get hectic.
Establish a routine based on daily family activities.
Often parents decide to turn the bath into an end-of-day ritual that also helps the new-born sleep.
Keep in mind that, once out of the tub, the little one may want to eat because the "ritual" will tire the baby a lot.
We recommend paying attention to the baby’s mood after bath time and use it to your advantage. If, for example, the baby is energetic and ready to play, bathe during the day. If he/she seems more mellow, make it a pre-bedtime activity.
Whether you're bathing your baby every night or quick washcloth clean-ups, the routine will help set your baby's body clock (e.g. “I’m taking a bath = time for bed"). Reinforce the sleepy-time message by dimming the lights and keeping the noise and activity down after the bath is over.
If your baby is hungry or has an upset tummy, you should, however, postpone the bath
Keep in mind that while bedtime baths are relaxing, it's fine if another time of day works better for you and your baby.
How often to bathe a new-born
The frequency of the bath is at the discretion of parents. Of course, the baby does not need to be washed every day; because doesn’t move and if is dressed properly for the day temperature,
the baby doesn't sweat much.
His day passes between breast and cradle and the diaper is often changed so two to three baths a week should be enough.
However, if you think that bath time should be part of your daily evening routine, remember to use moisturizing products because a sensitive baby skin soaked frequently can dry out.
The water temperature for the first bath
The ideal water temperature ranges from 37 to 38 degrees Celsius or 100 F. If you want to be sure, measure the temperature with a thermometer.
After several days you will become an expert in water temperature assessment and will use the old grandmother method, namely the elbow.
The room temperature
Any mother with a baby is anxious to create the best conditions for her child, in which he/she feels most comfortable.
It is also important to pay attention to the temperature inside of the room to keep the baby from chilling. Ideally, there should not be an extreme contrast when removing the baby from the water. It is recommended to keep the room temperature at around 20 - 25 degrees Celsius or between 70 – 77 F. During winter, use an electric warmer if necessary.
How to bathe a new-born on your own?
It is critical to be well organized before the bath: prepare in advance everything you need, from products for cleansing to change diapers. The list of essentials includes baby soap and shampoo, one or two cotton washcloths, a blanket, a towel or two, a plastic basin filled with warm water, a clean diaper, diaper lotion for after the bath and clean cloths.
Oh, I almost forgot ... Ask your partner to have the camera ready especially if it's baby’s first bath.
Only after the first bath, you will realize how complex it is to manage everything at the same time, especially if you are alone.
⚠️ It is particularly important to remember the child cannot be left alone, not even for a moment.
The first step is to heat the room and prepare the tub, then undress the baby. Whether you're using an infant tub or a sink, fill it first with just enough water to cover the bottom of his body; recommended 5 to 7 cm or 2.6 inch. Never put a baby in while the water is still running.
If just pooped, wipe him off with a washcloth before bathing.
Then, gently immerse the baby in the water feet first, holding him with one hand placed under his head and the other arm to support his neck and back.
⚠️ Most important is to prevent the baby from slipping, swallowing water or getting injured.
When bathing the baby, use a mild soap on his hands and diaper area; you could just use water on the rest of his body unless the baby is dirty.
Dip a corner of a washcloth (or use a cotton ball) in the warm water, and carefully wipe one eye from the inner corner outward. Use a different corner of the cloth (or a new cotton ball), to clean the other eye. Wet the washcloth entirely and wash your little one's face, especially around his mouth and under his chin where milk and drool can pool, and inside and behind his ears.
⚠️ Do not use a cotton swab to clean inside your baby's ears.
If necessary, you can use a little soap on your baby's face.
Make sure that the baby's eyes and mouth do not come in contact with the soapy water, and try not to scare him/her.
Dip the washcloth in warm water and wash your little one's neck and torso. Then clean between his fingers and under his arms and make sure to get into those little creases and skin folds.
Save baby’s dirtiest parts for last.
Use a soft, clean cloth, gentle soap, and warm water to clean your baby's genitals.
For girls, wash the area from front to back, and don't forget to gently wipe between skin folds.
Have a boy? If your baby boy has been circumcised, wipe his penis clean; do not pull back his foreskin if your baby boy is uncircumcised.
When clean the tiny bottom, be sure to use a little soap.
Then, move back up and wash the baby’s hair. This should be your last move because infants lose most of their heat through their heads.
You can play with the baby if the water is still warm as the water chills, the baby will quickly get cold.
The first few times it is always recommended to be two, so one will hold the baby and the other will pass the products, the towel and take thousands of photos.
Also remember that even though the baby was for 9 months in contact with the liquid, many children are frightened by the first bath.
Do not rush, make every movement calmly, making the most of these moments, instilling safety and serenity in your baby.
If your baby doesn’t like being bathed in the tub, go back to sponge baths and try again a few days later; he'll get the hang of it eventually.
What products are needed for the baby's bath
Babies' skin is particularly delicate, so it is essential to use specific cleansers.
Rice starch found in pharmacies, is recommended when babies have red skin due to sweat or diaper rashes. It has anti-inflammatory and absorbent properties, soothes itching, soothes and refreshes. You just put 3 or 4 tablespoons in bathwater.
When your baby is sitting up on their own, you can bathe them in the full bathtub. Bath toys or books can help babies enjoy bath time but be careful with bubbles because frequent bubble baths can dry out baby’s skin.
That beautiful and ultra-sensitive skin doesn't need lotions, oils, creams, baby powders; though a little baby-safe lotion is fine.
However, if your doctor recommends one, first warm it between your palms then massage lotion into baby skin.
Roll him in a towel, preferably with a hood, and dry him gently. Put on a fresh diaper and dress your new baby in some clean clothes.
